China Remains Thailand’s Largest Foreign Investor as Thailand’s Industrial Growth Creates New HVAC & Cleanroom Opportunities

Date:2026-07-20

Thailand’s foreign investment continues to accelerate, with China maintaining its position as the country’s largest foreign investor. The latest investment trend highlights growing opportunities for HVAC, cleanroom, refrigeration and industrial infrastructure suppliers across ASEAN.

According to Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, Thailand approved 640 foreign businesses to operate in the country during the first half of 2026, representing a 27% year-on-year increase. China, the United States and Japan ranked among the top foreign investors, with China remaining the leading source of investment.

The Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) continues to be a major investment hub. During the first six months of 2026, 199 foreign companies were approved to invest in the EEC, accounting for 31% of total foreign investment approvals. The region attracted approximately THB 83.79 billion in investment, representing 45% of Thailand’s total foreign investment value.

Driven by continued investment in electronics, semiconductors, smart manufacturing, automotive, logistics and high-tech industries, Thailand’s industrial expansion is generating increasing demand for advanced infrastructure solutions, including:

  • HVAC and energy-efficient cooling systems
  • Cleanroom technologies
  • Industrial ventilation solutions
  • Refrigeration systems
  • Building automation technologies
  • Data center cooling solutions

As Thailand strengthens its role as a regional manufacturing and technology hub, global suppliers are seeking new opportunities to connect with ASEAN’s expanding industrial ecosystem.
