Amazon Expands Digital Infrastructure Investment in ASEAN, Plans USD 33 Billion Commitment Across Four Countries

Date:2026-05-26

According to Thai media reports, Amazon plans to invest more than USD 33 billion in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore by 2039 to expand cloud computing and artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, further reinforcing ASEAN’s strategic role in the global digital economy.

Amazon stated that ASEAN is steadily emerging as the world’s fourth-largest economy, with the region’s digital economy projected to reach USD 560 billion by 2030. As demand for AI, cloud services, and data centres continues to rise, Southeast Asia is becoming a major destination for global technology investment.

Company executives noted that ASEAN governments are actively supporting the development of AI and digital infrastructure through policy incentives and investment-friendly economic environments, accelerating the region’s digital transformation.

The rapid expansion of data centres and AI-related industries is also expected to drive growing demand for high-efficiency cooling systems, liquid cooling technologies, cleanroom environments, and smart HVAC solutions, creating new opportunities across the ASEAN HVACR and cleanroom industry supply chain.
