Daikin Forecasts Modest Growth in Thailand's AC Market, Targets Younger Consumers and Provincial Areas

Latest news from ASEAN HVAC & Cleanroom Industry Expo
Siam Daikin Sales Co Ltd expects modest growth in Thailand’s air conditioner market this year, despite a flat economy. While the tourism sector is projected to grow with more foreign arrivals, the real estate market is likely to slow due to existing backlogs in development projects. Consumer demand for air conditioners is expected to drive market growth, especially within the business-to-business sector, as data centers expand. Additionally, trends in carbon emission reduction and sustainability may prompt real estate operators to renovate buildings, creating further opportunities. The company plans to target younger customers and provincial markets by introducing high-quality products at slightly lower prices. Despite fierce competition, Siam Daikin aims to maintain its position as an "affordable premium" brand. The company’s revenue target for fiscal 2024 is 13 billion baht, with expectations to reach 15 billion baht in fiscal 2025, reflecting double-digit growth.
